Tulip Festival

I had spring fever way bad this year, what better way to fuel the fever than Thanksgiving points Tulip Festival! The lady working there said that the gardener plant 250,000 tulips every spring, and whats crazier than that is they take out all 250,000 after the festival is over!

The kids had a good time (except that we wouldn't let them roll down the big hill and get muddy) and we took some cute pics. Can't wait until we can see the gardens in full bloom.

Easter in Las Vegas

WARNING! long post : )

We decided to visit Las Vegas again for Easter, so glad we did.
This year we stayed at the Circus circus Hotel. Fun for kids, good price for rooms, but I would not recommend staying there. It was like sleeping on plywood. At least the kids had fun.

After we got the room set up we took the kids to the forum to check out the aquarium and statues. They were a little freaked out when the statues started moving, but they still thought it was cool.

The next morning we took the kids to the Secret Garden at the Mirage. Destiny loved the dolphins, and Dylan just loved taking pictures.

We tried to go swimming but they had to close the pool because of high winds : (

The kids got to go on one ride at the Adventure dome. They chose this roller coaster called the canyon blaster. I went in the seat behind them just because Destiny was nervous. As soon as the ride took off Dylan put his head down so far I couldn't see him anymore. And Destiny started screaming for mom. I admit I'm not much of a "ride" person anymore but it wasn't that bad. I wish we had gotten some pics of them after the ride, Destiny was crying and Dylan was jumping up and down with excitement.

Then the kids got to go to the carnival and play some games. I have to say Dylan really rocks at Carnival games. They even got to watch this awesome juggler preform. What a jam packed day!

The next morning we were able to have breakfast with My Friend Kiley and her Daughter Hadley. It was good too see her again. So glad we were able to catch up, it's been too long and Destiny loved teasing Hadley.

We got a late start back home and I must say if we would have known there was a state wide winter storm warning in Utah, we would have stayed another day. 30 minutes into Utah it started snowing and it didn't stop! Made for a very long ride home with speeds reaching a terrifying 40mph.

We got home around 11:30pm but the Easter bunny had made a stop at our house while we were away. After some persuasion we sent the kids to bed with the promise that they could hunt for eggs in the morning before school.

The kids are already planning their trip for next year!

Spring Snowman!

With the snow that fell yesterday ( all day yesterday.) And the relatively warm temps today, the kids were dying to make a snow man. Luckily Jennsen is old enough now she can join in the fun!

Of course we can't just boil them and dip them, there are just too many fancy egg coloring kits. This year we did a Glitter kit, and a foil egg kit.

The kids always have fun. I just think it's funny to do so much work on an egg just to eat it? : )

Today I turned 31!

This year for my birthday I got a bike with a kid seat on the back. Jennsen loves it already!

It will be nice to ride around with the kids since all the parks are a little way away.

Last weekend the kids were invited to a Birthday party for Zander, The son of one of Jeffs coworkers. He was so cute, he reminded us of a little mob boss.

The party was at Classic Skating, which has changed a lot since I've been there. They had so much stuff for the kids to do. There were bounce houses, which jennsen was not too keen on!

There was skating which was an adventure! I haven't been on roller skates for a long time and it wasn't helping my balance when the kids lost theirs. I think they were secretly trying to knock me down. But I'm proud to say that I stayed on my feet the whole time, and Jeff was too chicken to even try. Jennsen did really well for her first time on skates, but Destiny and Dylan swear that their roller blades at home are much easier.

there was a huge slide that terrified Destiny and Jennsen. I wish this picture came out better, but Jeff and Jennsen were going too fast, you can just make out the terror on Jennsen's face!

They even had an area called the blast zone, where at any minute you could be pummeled by flying foam balls. This of course was Dylan's favorite place, were else can you load a cannon and shoot people without getting yelled at. I should mention that this was Jeff's favorite place for the exact same reason!

And of course there was cake and ice cream, I don't know what the orange teeth have too do with ice cream, but Jennsen loved them anyway.

Last weekend we headed over to James and Kirsten's house to go sledding.
They have some draining area's around their house that are perfect for the little one's. High enough to get some speed, but small enough that the kids don't freak out walking back up!

This year we had a low key family Christmas. Wilkey's took us to "A Christmas Carol" at Hail Center Theater. The kids loved it, even the scary parts.

After making our annual suckers for Santa, we went to Christmas eve dinner at the Wilkey's. Christmas morning, Dylan woke us up at 12:08 am. We told him that it had only been Christmas for 8 minutes and so he had to go back to bed. Then Destiny woke up at 2:30am which woke up Jennsen. Needless to say. Mom and dad were very tired when we finally got out of bed.

After opening presents, we made a quick stop at Wilkey's on our way to the Arrington's.

Our homemade Christmas tree, The kids were very proud that they made everything on the tree except for the lights of course.

The kids loved their video camera's and Dylan was excited about his race track.

Destiny couldn't wait to use her easy bake oven, and Jennsen couldn't get enough of her learning toy's.

Jeff just had to wear the beads for his little girl.

Jennsen and Lexie are very cute together. I can't wait to see how much fun they have growing up!

Grandpa Wilkey took the kiddies to a Christmas party at his work where the kids got to see Santa. I love the innocence at these ages!

Gingerbread Maddness!

Any excuse to have Jeff' brother and Fam over is a good one, so we decided to have a Christmas tree decorating party with all the kids. We made sugar cookie star's in different sizes, stacked them up, and let the kids go wild with the decorations.

Destiny and Dylan would hardly stop coating their tree's with candy long enough to show them off.

I had a picture with Nathan's tree done but Lexi's face in this one is too cute!

Then as I promised the kids last year, we made our gingerbread house completely from scratch. Now I know why I don't build houses. it's not as easy as it looks to get all the pieces to fit together.

Finished product! Not too bad. I decorated the front, Dylan did the sides,

and Destiny got the back. Jennsen helped by eating as much candy as she could before we were done.

We finally got the kids school pics. I can't believe how fast they grow! I'm glad I can take Jennsen in so they have matching pic's, the only problem is it makes her look so old. Hard to believe she isn't even 2 yet.

And more good news for the kids...

Both Destiny and Dylan entered reflections (an arts contest for school kids) with pictures they had taken during summer. The theme was "Beauty is" here's how they did!

Make ahead Christmas ornament Cookies!

Ok, I know I know... Thanksgiving hasn't even come yet. But If your like me you put up your Christmas tree as soon as the leftovers go in the fridge! These need to dry for a couple of day's so I thought I'd share the recipe early.

This year, now that my kids are getting older, we decided to decorate our tree with all homemade ornaments. I can't wait to see what it will look like all put together!

WARNING!

Your house will smell like a giant Cinnamon stick so if you don't like that kind of thing I'd skip this project : )

Cinnamon Ornaments

2 1/4 cups ground cinnamon

2 cups applesauce (give or take)

1/4 cup ground ginger

1/4 cup nutmeg

1- Combine all ingredients in a large bowl (although it was messy we thought it worked better mixing it with our hands)

2- dust surface with cinnamon and roll dough to about 1/4 inch thickness, the thicker it is the longer it will take to dry.

3- cut out shapes with cookie cutters, and insert chopstick in top of each for ribbon, you can use anything that will make a small hole (ie. drinking straw, pen, toothpick)

4- transfer to a cookie sheet and allow to dry. Turning over once in a while until they are completely dry and hard.

5- Decorate! We used glitter glue for ease

Trick-or-Treating and cake eating!

Well first things first... of course kids being kids, if it's their birthday they want to open presents as soon as they wake up.

later that evening we did some tick or treating, and went to a carnival at my parents ward

the funniest part was the doughnut eating contest.

Destiny and Dylan were covered with sugar from the doughnuts smacking their face repeatedly.

After all the sweets and the late hour, we decided not to have Dylan's birthday cake that night. Thankfully James and Kirsten invited us to their house on Sunday.

Pumpkin Carving

Hooray for pumpkins!

Last weekend we were invited to a pumpkin carving shin-dig at the Bennions. It was a beautiful evening and who needs an excuse to gather with friends.

Jeff got th yucky guts job. Jess's dog Tank is so funny.

This is how Jennsen helped carve her pumpkin... Way to delegate!

This is the first year that Destiny and Dylan Carved their pumpkins

all on their own, well mostly.

Autumn Splendor!

Color...Seriously! I know it's cliche but Autumn is my favorite season!

How can you not be amazed at mother nature's color? The kids had Friday off of school so we decided to take a drive. the weather was perfect, in the 70's. The worst thing about fall color... it only lasts for a couple of weeks.

We went up Lams canyon, and on the way back Destiny said "I'm renaming it color canyon."

I know all you out-of-town friends are jealous!

I just have to give a big cheer for my two little scholars!
We had parent teacher conferences this week, it always makes me nervous to sit and hear other people critique my kids even if it is their job. This time not only was it not painful, it was a relief.

We learned that Dylan is the number one reader in his accelerated class. And he "is the leader that takes care of business" (teacher's words). And his D.I.B.L.S. scores were off the charts, literally so high they couldn't fit them on their charts. Way to go bud!

We received Destiny's U.P.A.S.S. test score's. These are compared to state scores to make sure the school is on track. ( there are a lot of numbers here so please bear with me.)

Rockets!

On labor day Jeff stayed home and built a rocket launcher with the kids (I was in charge of building rockets). Then we called up my sister and headed to the park to try it out

WOW! who knew you could have so much fun with such a simple thing

Destiny tried her hand at making a rocket for herself. Sadly she only got one launch before it ripped apart, practice makes perfect.

Even the adults got into it. We tried to catch the rockets on their way down, not as easy as it sounds. And maybe not such a good idea with the crowd of kids watching us, but I never claimed to be a good influence : )

Jennsen and her cousin Shaun loved the sound the launcher made when they pushed the button.

A BIG thanks to James and Kirsten for the idea! We can't wait to get together and pit these bad boy's against each other.

First Day of school!!!

Yes, It's that time of year again. As much as I love my two big kids I'm looking forward to spending quality time with my little one again. Destiny is going into 3rd grade, and Dylan is starting 1st(which would be alot harder for him if he hadn't had all day kindergarten last year)

I asked Dylan what I was going to do while they were gone all day and without hesitation he said "clean" thanks big guy! Jennsen is lonely, she keeps going to the window looking for Destiny. This summer they have become best friends. Jennsen's favorite thing is to go out back and play in the sandbox with her big sis!

I'm grateful that they still like school. I hope they enjoy it while it lasts.

Last week we went to Yellowstone with Jeffs bother James, his wife Kirsten, and their two kids Nathan and Alexis. It was alot of fun. We saw so many things that you don't see anywhere else.

Jeff went crazy with the pictures, so please be patient with the slide shows, it's the only way for

me too show some of the things we saw.

We went to as many of the geysers and pools as we could. the kids were having fun taking lots of pictures. And every once in a while the wind would shift and blow the steam at us. It was great to watch the kids grab their noses.

Jeff and James took a day to go see some of the waterfalls in the park. Kirsten and I stayed at the resort with the kids because of the hikes involved. We did take them on a couple of the hikes and I must say, Fairy falls had a 5.2 mile hike round trip and we made it through it with little complaints, Way to go kiddies!

If you want to see animals in the wild, Yellowstone is a good place too go. This is just a few that we saw. It was crazy to have Buffalo walk right past the car, and to have Elk walking and lounging around the town. Jeff and James even saw a bear in the wild when they were hiking.

We are glad that James and family could come with us. It wouldn't have been the same without them!

This post is long overdue!

On the 27th our baby girl turned 9! I just can't believe were almost to double digits. We had a fun birthday BBQ combined with our anniversary get together, so all in all we had 13 adults & 14 kids (5 of which are under 18 months). Talk about a full house! It was so much fun, thanks to everyone who was able to make it.

Jeff was in charge of picture taking, but with so many friends and family there we were too busy socializing to worry about the camera. Here is the slim pickins

On Sunday, Jeff and I celebrated our 12th anniversary. I can't believe that we have been married for so long. What makes this even more crazy? We met in 1995.

We were both 16, I would love to say that it was "love at first sight" but to be honest, he kind of scared me. He was cocky and smart mouthed, I was quiet and shy. Well, crazy as it was, we were engaged 3 months later.

In 1997 we finally made it legal.

Weekend fun

Sunday Jeff decided to blow off work (anyone who knows him understands that he is always working). We decided to call up James and see if they wanted to go for a hike. I'm glad we did, it turned into a fun day.

We headed up to doughnut falls with both family's in tow.

Dad carried Jennsen some of the way, but she was a trooper and walked almost the whole thing!

We got out on the trail and Destiny sniffs..."whats that smell" hmm... nature?

This is us starting the climb up. Last time were up here there wasn't this many rocks. It was very interesting getting all three bigger kids up the rocks, but thanks to Jeff and James we made it in one piece. All I had to worry about was getting me and the baby up.

What a reward! when you finally get to the top this is whet you see. Just beautiful.

Nephi Rodeo

The Wilkey family has a tradition of going to the rodeo in Nephi where my dad grew up. It just happens to be the BEST rodeo there is.

They had a kid about 9 or 10 sing the national anthem... I was blown away, This kid had a set of pipes!

This horse comes with a story

All of the sudden a random horse comes shooting out of the stall, nearly smashing the guy's holding the gate. He comes rushing through all the people, guy's went scrambling around jumping fences throwing themselves down. The only person that got caught in the cross hairs happened to be Cotton. This is the guy who owns all the animals used in many rodeo's. The loose horse ran straight past bucking as he past. The horses head hit Cotton in the face and he went tumbling off his horse to the ground.

Everyone was scrambling, holding there breath. It doesn't help that Cotton in at least 70 years old, and been in the rodeo for over 50 years. Miracle of miracles he stood up and walked to the ambulance on his own. If that isn't the definition of tough old cowboy, I don't know what is.

There was much more. A hilarious clown, a father and so trick roping team, a crazy stunt motorcyclist, cow hide racing, and much more excitement.

As always we had a blast and are looking forward to next year

It's been fun, but it's time to go home. Were surprising Daddy, he doesn't think were coming home for a couple more days.

The kids found some friends to play with and all was well. Then a "gathering" (reunion) pulled in with about 50 kids. Talk about craziness. It was 10 before I could get the kids off the playground.

Today we visited the Fountain Green state fish hatchery. It isn't much but the kids always enjoy seeing all the fish. Today they got an extra treat, one of the workers came out and told them about the fish they grew. They even got to feed them. I had no idea that they stocked albino's as a "novelty fish" and the only reason they have them is so that people can see that they are in fact stocking. I guess people kept turning them in, saying no one was putting fish in, when in fact it was just bad fishermen...lol, must have been Jeff.

Vacation journal- day 9 &10

Swim, ride bikes, make new friends... what else would there be?

We really havn't been doing much, just relaxing.

The first night here was HELL! In a tent with three little ones and one good sleeping bag. I had no idea it would be this cold. Not that I didn't prepare mind you, two of the bags I brought were too old with brocken zippers and not warm enough. I was ready to throw in the towel, but thanks to daddy saving the day the second night was much more bearable. It is still difficult to sleep in a tent with a baby, and our nightly routine is shot, but it's all worth it in the end...right?

Vacation journal- Day 8

Today we were finally off! The water heater in the trailer still wasn't fixed so we had to stop at the shop on our way out. It was taking forever so the kids and I headed to a store to look around while we were waiting. On the way in we passed an accident were a lady drove into the side of a Budweiser truck. Free beer! if you want to lock it off the road that is.

So I don't know how my parents do this, but the drive from St George to Nephi was so long. We got to the shop at 10:11 and didn't arrive at the campground until 5:45. that's a long time in a car for a baby.

We set up our home away from home and I had a little extra cleaning to do before we could settle in for the night. ( Note to Jeff, Don't put the tent away while it's still wet... yes you!)

I hope the kids don't go stir crazy now that were just relaxing, We might be home early ; )

Vacation journal- Day 7

So the water heater in the trailer wasn't working so we decided to stay in St. George an extra day to have it fixed. What do you do with an extra day? Laundry! With 6 people we go through a lot of laundry. After the long hours at the laundry mat Jennsen was very tired. She fell asleep and we laid her down on top of a sleeping bag on the counter where I was folding clothes. Too cute.

The kids and I decided to go to the wildlife museum. OK, so the wildlife museum turned out to be more of a big game trophy hall, but the kids enjoyed it so who am I to complain. They had over 300 animals from different area's. They even had a fake thunder storm in the building which Dylan loved.

At 7 we went to see Night at the Museum 2. Dylan's favorite part was when the T-Rex roared at the teenagers. Destiny's favorite part was the after hours party. Jennsen's favorite part was when it ended. I guess she's still way too young to enjoy the movie theater.

Then we did some night swimming. Were gonna have bright green hair when we get home dad!

We woke up to the kids saying "when can we go swimming" I'm not sure they'll remember anything but the swimming! So we let them swim.

After that we took a ride to see a couple of historic homes. The first was Brigham Young's winter home. I was thinking it would be cool to show the kids how people used to live, but it didn't quite work out that way. Aside from the stove and the chamber pots, it wasn't too rustic at all.

Outside there was a mulberry tree that no one knew how old it was. It was planted because the silk worms were attracted to them so that's were the women would harvest there silk. It started splitting, so they called a "tree surgeon" I cant believe that the tree survived having been bolted and cemented together! Outside they also had grape vines, cotton plants, an almond tree, a fig tree, a pecan tree, and three pomegranate tree's. I've never seen such a variety of tree's in one place.

Next we went to John Somethingorother's house. (I should have payed more attention). He was called the Indian peacemaker and is inducted into the cowboy hall of fame. He had three wives (two of them at once) and 25 children. And I thought three were a handful. I didn't take too many pictures of his house because I as carrying a sleeping baby, but it was defiantly more rustic. I thought it was interesting that he was named Indian peacemaker when he lived at mountain meadows where the infamous mountain meadow massacre took place (a bunch of Indians killing settlers, I'm paraphrasing of course).

After the history lesson grandpa took the kids swimming again while grandma and I went for a little shopping.

I know this is gonna sound corny, and anyone who knows me knows I'm anything but corny. Having said that, I really miss Jeff. We haven't spent more then a couple days apart since we met close to 15 years ago. Maybe we'll come home early : )

Vacation journal- Day 5

Today we took the kids into Snow Canyon. I love southern Utah! Were else can you find petrified sand dunes, red rock, white mountains and black lava fields in one place?

The kids and I went climbing for a while, then we took them to the red dunes.

I thought these shoes would be a good idea so I didn't get sand in my sneakers but... they quickly filled with 103 degree sand. Not so smart after all.

Destiny is complaining that she can't walk anymore because it's too hot.

Jennsen has a new "hug", It's a baby leash that we got to use in Bryce canyon. Apparently she likes it, because she wouldn't leave the car until I put it on her, then she followed me around trying to hand me the handle. Too cute!

Back to the camp for more swimming and then it was time for the play.

We got tickets for Footloose at the Tuacahn, an outdoor playhouse.

It was so good! Ren, the lead guy, was played by Thane from So you think you can dance season 4. All three kids sat through the two and a half hour play without a sound. They loved all the music and dancing. I know dad would have enjoyed it!

Today was an uneventful day.
After driving from bryce to St. George and going from temps in the 60's to temp of 106, all we felt like doing was swimming.
Dylan finally tried swimming without his vest, and he's doing great. Destiny is all over the place, and Jennsen is having a blast spashing everyone!

Vacation journal- Day 3

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!
To the greatest dad in the world... no really. I mean who else would let their family go off on a fun vacation without them, let alone over fathers day.
Thank you for always being so selfless and putting your family first. You are the hardest working guy I know. Love you babe!

Today we started out with a horseback ride down into the canyon. The kids were so excited to go! I was very nervous as you could expect, you never know what will happen when you put a hyper child on the back of a horse. I must say that i was pleasantly surprised. The kiddies did awesome! Dylan kept his cool, and Destiny wasn't scared at all. In fact she was riding like an old pro by the time we reached the end.

Our wranglers name was Stetson- no joke!

After the fun ride we went swimming. or tried to, it is still chilly up here.

Next we drove down through red canyon which is a much smaller version of Bryce.

I decided that since today was our last day in Bryce, we were going to go hiking. I'm glad we did! it was very beautiful and the kids got a little more up close and personal with the cool rock formations.

when we came back it was... you guessed it. Swimming again, this time in the indoor pool.

On our way out of the canyon this evening we were surrounded by deer and antelope. We learned on this trip that antelope are the second fastest animal on the planet. It was very cool too see so many grazing (about20 in all) but sorry no pics since we were trying not to hit them with the car.

On to the next adventure!

Vacation journal- Day 2

We started today out by hopping on the trolley and heading to the visitors center. This quickly lead two accident number 2! I was holding Jennsen, but she wanted down to run. Run she did! or slip she did, BIG face plant on the tile. Poor little girl had a nice bloody nose and a bump on her forehead. It's hard to stay calm as a mom when your littlest is screaming and your oldest is freaking out.

From there we finally headed into the canyon.
(lots of pics for dads sake, so please bear with me)

First stop was Sunset point

Then it was on to Rainbow point elevation 9115. On to Ponderosa point 8891, then Agua canyon 8820.

Next we hit Black birch canyon elevation 8750.

Up next, Natural bridge elevation 8627.

Further to Bryce point elevation 8300. By far the best view of the day!

Last stop for the day, Sunrise point elevation, mmm... a little lower. I forgot to check.

What a beautiful day despite the rain. Tomorrow starts mighty early!

Vacation journal --- Day 1

Our Family was fourtunate enough to tag along with grandma and grandpa on their summer vacation. Two weeks of relaxing! Well as much as we can with tthree small kids in a trailer. We are so grateful that Daddy let us go. He had to stay home and work, what a good dad to give up his fathers day an send his family on vacation for two weeks without him. I promised him that i would do a journal so he could see whats happining. Here we go

We left Town around 10:30 am Friday morning, on our way to Bryce Canyon. After potty breaks, lunch breaks, and a couple of wrong turns, We finally hit our destination around 5:30 pm.

The canyon is beautiful and I can't wait to go see more of it.

We had our first accident. Destiny was watching the baby, and somehow she hit her jaw on the baby's head. Next thing i know she's spitting out pieces of teeth. Both of her bottom teeth were chipped (yes the permanent ones). Looks like we get a trip to the dentist when we get home

It's been so busy this spring! I'm trying to adjust to doing the yard work, and the housework again.

Jennsen is totally into being outside. Every time I take her out it's a fight to come back in. Who could blame her, I would rather be outside too!

Both Destiny and Dylan are winding up the school year with testing, oh the fun.

I have to give Dylan his due, he was accepted into the accelerated 1st grade class. Way to go big guy!

Both older kids have also started soccer. They have so much fun at their Saturday games. I promise pics will come soon.

I feel like all I've done the last while is yard work! As soon as the weather hit the 70's I have had dirt under my nails, But it's all paying off. Now the trick will be keeping it up.

We decided to head out of town for Easter but our trip was delayed by a phone call from a friend. His son was 4-wheeling at 1 in the morning and...oopsie is that a ledge? Needless to say, he needed some help towing it out. What this picture doesn't show is that the drop is about 15 feet down, and both passenger tires are well off the edge.

We finally got on our way, headed to St. George ( or so I thought ) Jeff decided that Vegas was only a skip and a jump from there and much more fun!

The kids have never seen anything like it. Lights, people, monorail, shows, and much more.

We took them to Tournament of the kings, our favorite family dinner show. They loved all the drama!

Then swimming!

We were so excited to get some warm weather. Bad part about swimming is trying to get the kids out.

We did some sight seeing, and as we walked around people were pointing and laughing. Took us a minute to figure out why...

Just too much fun!

And when we got home...Whatdaya know... The Easter bunny didn't forget us even though we weren't home.

All around a Great holiday. I think we might start a family tradition!

The kids and I decided it would be fun to fly kites on Sunday.

The weather was (if possible) too windy, but they enjoyed it. And a bonus! There was a lady from the Deseret News there taking pictures... Sure enough I pulled out the paper today and there is Destiny, on the cover no less. It must be good to be that cute!

Destiny was so excited to preform in the talent show at her school! I am very proud of her I just can't believe how fast things fly by. She has been taking piano lessons for 3-4 months now and she finds time to practice even in our loud household. I might be a little biased, but i think she did the best in the whole school! And a big thanks to aunt Kirsten for the lessons!

The BIG 30!

That's right... I'm turning the big 30!

And what better way to celebrate getting older then doing something that makes you feel young again. Thanks to grandma and grandpa Wilkey Destiny, Dylan, and I got to go to Disney on Ice. We had a blast! It's always fun to see things come to life that way, and the "characters" are surprisingly good figure skaters in spite of the costumes. Because Jeff had to work that night I took a bunch of pictures and couldn't decide which ones to post, so please be patient with the long slide show.

Home improvements are non stop at my house, and as much as we try I find it hard to finish everything. Dylan's room has been neglected for the last 9 years, so i decided to try and tackle it myself.

I am very proud of how it turned out! And I did it all on my own ( except of course for hanging the shelf and the chair rail...those big power tools scare me a little.)

Dylan even got to go to the store and pick the paint. The best part...

So Sick

So little Jennsen had just gotten over the flu when she had her 12 month doctors visit.
Talk about bad timing! She of course needed her shots. So with the doctors ok, she received 4 shots (6 vaccines total). Dylan was very cute, he had to leave the room because he didn't want to hear his baby sister scream.
Now, I've been through many series of shots having three kids, but never on the heels of a sickness.
That night Jennsen had a HUGE fever. The next morning we were both exhausted. I set her down in our room and couldn't believe how sad she looked. I was amazed at how concerned brother and sister were. Luckily her fever broke last night and she seems to be doing fine today.

Lesson learned! No more shots when someone has been sick.

We knew she'd be right at home at the zoo.

First day of school.

Destiny started 2nd grade, and Dylan started the big K. Jennsen and I get to hold down the fort alone.

We have been blessed with good health in our family, and i know this could have been worse. Still it is never easy to see your little one like this.

Jennsen was exactly 4 weeks old when she ended up at Primary Children's. After Blood tests, catheters, and a nerve wracking spinal tap, it was decided that she had RSV. 3 days in a hospital and a week on oxygen at home. I thought it would never end.

On February 7th we welcomed our third child.

Jennsen Rowe, 5lbs 6oz.

She was so little, and quiet, it was like having a new doll!

Every year i like to look back at how many milestones have passed.
